Dear Valued Client,

We at First Global Merchant Services are pleased to announce our forthcoming merger with NPD Payroll, which is scheduled to take place on May 1, 2012. On that date our combined firm will begin conducting business as PayHub. We will continue to operate with the same management, staff, phone number and location!

One paycheck at a time since 2000, NPD Payroll has been providing a wide range of businesses with unparalleled payroll services. After creating a strong and successful client base, there was an increasing request for a payment processing solution that provided the same quality of service. First Global Merchant Services was then established in 2008. From 2008 until today, First Global Merchant Services has been providing exceptional services to businesses by supplying them with a cost effective way to accept credit, debit and gift card payments. Additionally, FGMS has maintained a strong focus on educating clients on the payment processing industry. Since 2008, NPD and First Global have been working side by side at 200 Fisher Drive Avon, CT, creating a space for businesses to have a “one-stop-shop” full of customized business solutions.

We have decided to seek a merger with NPD Payroll because we believe that a larger organization will allow us to provide a wider array of services to you, our valued clients. We are looking forward to being able to provide you with new services in the future that will add value to your business. However, we want to assure you that there will also be many services that will not change:

* You will continue to work with the same people in our firm that you have in the past.

* Our fee structure will not change.

* The services that we have provided to you in the past will continue.

If you have any questions about this exciting news and what it will mean for you, please feel free to reach out to any one of us at any time. We look forward to introducing you to our expanded team here at PayHub! We are grateful to you for your continued loyalty and trust in us. We are confident that this merger will serve us all well. We will continue to keep you updated as we move closer to our live merger date, May 1, 2012.

Sincerely,

NPD Payroll and First Global Merchant Services

2. Do not let anyone ever see your PIN number, this is something that should only be seen by you!

3. Avoid paying online with your debit card because if you make a fraudulent transaction, your money will be removed from your account instantly, rather than if you paid with a credit card and you had time to undo the transaction.

4. Use bank ATMs only (not ATMs at a mall, etc.) because there is no risk of a “skimming” scam.

5. Do NOT Use Public Wireless Access for Transactions!!

6. Report Problems Immediately!!

7. File a Police Report if your card is stolen!

8. Create a security profile for yourself so only you can access your account information.

Mobile Payment apps may be the ‘next big thing’, but with the ‘next big thing’ usually comes a big risk. The FTC is skeptical of how quick and easy it is for tasks such as purchasing coffee, food and merchandise to be paid for using mobile apps rather than credit cards. Since the customer is not required to give their signature or identification when making a purchase, there is a security risk and chance of theft. Anyone can make a purchase with someone else’s phone and the retailer would never know. Some apps do have passwords which are highly suggested to use.

According to the FTC, the questions you should be asking yourself before purchasing a mobile app are as follows:

Who can you call if something goes wrong?

Can you dispute purchases with the mobile payment provider?

How can you get your money back?

Does the company provide protection for fraudulent transactions?

Who’s tracking your buying habits?

This year, St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday, which means more Americans will be celebrating as opposed to if it were on a weekday. This is great news for bars and retailers who will be bringing in more revenue as people buy “Irish” merchandise and beverages. While you will have more freedom to have fun without worrying about going to work the next day, you need to keep an eye on how much your “fun” is costing you. There are ways to save money, and still have a good time this Saturday. One way is to make your own t-shirt! Retailers are selling thousands of “Irish”, drinking, and shamrock shirts for around $30. Instead, make your own shirt for as low as $10! Throw a party at your house and avoid being overcharged at bars. There are some big St. Patrick’s Day parades as well this weekend, which are free of charge and major events. New York City’s parade is Saturday and South Boston’s is Sunday. Both are spectacular events and won’t cost you a dime to see! Your goal this weekend can be to wear more green than spend green.

Facebook has teamed up with global wireless carriers to streamline mobile purchases for apps using their website. Facebook’s partnership with AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others, will help them gain back the money they lost to Google and Apple. Carriers could help the social media site increase it’s revenue by having consumers purchase mobile web apps through their website. Facebook reported that more than half of it’s 845 million active users accessed their site through a mobile device, and has finally found a way to make money from this.

Facebook’s Chief technology officer, Bret Taylor, said “Facebook would enable more apps to be delivered via a simple Internet browser, instead of going through Apple and Google’s stores”.

We have a hunch that Facebook will have no problem making money off of this idea!

Mobile payments have now moved to changing the way people pay for public transportation.

GetTaxi

Israel is already using the app called Get Taxi, which allows consumers to get a taxi with the click of the button, without having to make a phone call. The consumer’s address and credit card information will be sent to the taxi service, so they will know where to pickup, and the payment is already complete. No more worrying about having enough cash on you to pay for a ride!

Consumers can also track where the taxi is coming from, so they will know when it will arrive.

“Since you get the driver’s contact information ahead of time, parents feel safe sending their kids in Get Taxi cabs, and passengers also feel less frustrated when waiting for it to arrive since they can see where exactly the taxi is headed from,” says Nimrod May, vice president of offline marketing and strategic partnerships for Get Taxi.
